Community Guidelines
INTRODUCTION
XACROS, Inc. ("XACROS" or "we") is a messaging app that helps teachers, students, and parents communicate quickly and efficiently. By connecting everyone in a school, XACROS helps educators and organizers build community both in and out of the classroom. Trust and respect are at the heart of any meaningful community, and your well-being is our highest priority. We believe that safety is a shared responsibility, and everyone plays an important role in keeping the XACROS community safe. We strongly encourage all users—whether you're an organizer (e.g., teacher, administrator, coach), participant (e.g., student, parent, athlete), or organization (e.g., school, district, PTA group)—to report any inappropriate contact, content, or use of XACROS' services. To contact our team about violations, please email to report@xacros.com.
As part of the XACROS community, keep the following in mind;
Keep communication constructive
Communication should be appropriate for recipients of all age levels and constructive in nature, so we encourage you to carefully consider all message content before sending. Messages on XACROS can't be edited or deleted, and everyone can download a complete record of announcements they send as well as conversations they participate in. Verified administrators at your school can also request to view your announcements and conversations.
Make sure your participant list is current and accurate
To make sure you're messaging the people you intend to message, check your participant list frequently and remove anyone who shouldn't be in your forum. Anyone who has your forum code can join the forum, so be careful about posting the code on social media or other public platforms.
Connect with people you know
Before you join a forum or accept an invitation, take a second to make sure you recognize the owner or teacher. If you join a forum by mistake, you can leave at any time.
Get permission from people before adding or inviting them to a forum
Only add or invite people to a forum on XACROS if you have their permission to contact them. We recommend letting them know ahead of time how you plan to use XACROS so they feel comfortable joining your forum.
Send useful, relevant messages
While every community is different, each message you send should be valuable for your participants. Listen to feedback about the relevance, frequency/timing, and length of your messages. If you find that your messages are important for only a small group in your forum, for example, consider creating a group conversation or a new forum for them.
To help keep our community safe, avoid the following;
Profanity
Don't use words and phrases that you wouldn't say over the school loudspeaker. Keep it clean and productive. XACROS is first and foremost a tool for education.
Nudity or sexually suggestive content of any kind
There's no place for sexually suggestive or explicit content on XACROS, including nudity of any kind. If we find that your messages include this content, your account will be deleted. We're also legally required to report any images of minors to the appropriate law enforcement agencies, no matter the intent.
Harassment, bullying, and gossip
Messages meant to harass, bully, or speak maliciously about other people are unacceptable. You can block or report anyone who sends messages of this nature. We also encourage you to seek out resources or contact a trusted adult if you or someone you know is being bullied or feels unsafe.
Pretending to be someone else
Use your real name and select the accurate role. Misrepresenting yourself or impersonating other people is not allowed on XACROS.
Adding or inviting people without permission
It's important to get permission from participants before adding them to forums on XACROS. If we find that you're adding people who don't want to be added, your account may be deleted.
Spamming Participants
Consider the frequency and content of your messages. XACROS prohibits sending multiple messages a day without regard for your participants or messages with irrelevant content. If we detect behavior that resembles spamming, your account may be deleted.
Threatening harm to yourself or others
Any messages meant to threaten harm to you or others goes against our priority to keep our community safe. If you're considering harming yourself, please seek out resources and contact a trusted adult. If someone is sending violent threats, please report that person to XACROS and contact a trusted adult.
Uses outside the educational space
Communication on XACROS should be used to support learning, and features are intended for educational uses only. XACROS should not be used for personal profit or commercial purposes.
REMEMBER
Messages and other content on XACROS may be occasionally monitored for these guidelines, and all accounts with inappropriate content may be deactivated, closed, or reported to the appropriate law enforcement agencies. Thanks for working with us to keep the XACROS community safe!
